Incoterms for Tire Importers: FOB, CFR and CIF Made Easy
Incoterms for tire importers made easy: FOB, CFR and CIF explained with who pays freight, insurance and port fees when buying tires abroad.
Understanding Incoterms for tire importers avoids surprise costs at the port. The term on your quotation decides who pays freight, who insures the goods and when the risk passes to you.

FOB: Free on Board
We deliver the tires onto the ship at Laem Chabang. You book and pay the sea freight and insurance. Good for buyers with their own forwarder and freight contracts.
CFR: Cost and Freight
We pay sea freight to your port. You insure the cargo and pay costs at destination. This is the most common term for our first-time buyers.
CIF: Cost, Insurance and Freight
Like CFR, but we also arrange basic marine insurance. Helpful if your bank requires insurance for a letter of credit.
What Is Never Included
Import duty, VAT, port handling at destination and inland trucking are paid by the buyer under all three terms.
